Antonio Raciti is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Community Development in the School for the Environment at UMass Boston. He earned his PhD (2012) in Urban Planning at the University of Catania (Italy). His transdisciplinary collaborative research projects always engage community groups and stakeholders in contexts characterized by power asymmetries to reflect upon and address context-dependent issues to innovate and contribute to housing, environmental stewardship, and development. He is currently engaged in community-based projects locally in the Boston area (MA, USA) and internationally in Eastern Sicily (Italy). In addition, he teaches courses in Urban Planning at UMass Boston, and he co-directs the Community Planning and Ecological Design International Summer School.
